Steven E. Smith, 64 of Port Clinton, Ohio, formerly of Findlay, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at his home. He was born April 25, 1954 in Tiffin, Ohio to Edward C. Smith, and Andrea Lee (Englehart) Strane. He married Michele Bugner on June 30, 1978 in Fostoria and they were later divorced.
He is survived by sons Todd (Leslie) Smith of Texarkana, Texas, and Ryan (Megan) Smith of Findlay; and grandchildren Jordyn, Landyn, Ashton, Lucy, and Finn.
He is also survived by his father, Edward (Gerry Opp) Smith of Tiffin; sister Kelly (Jeffrey) Densmore of Pleasanton, California; brothers James (Janet) Smith and Andrew (Natalie) Smith both of San Diego, California; and Martin (Carmen) Strane, Scottsdale, Arizona.
He was predeceased by his mother, Andrea Lee Strane and stepfather, Dr. Charles L. Strane of Delaware, Ohio.
Steve graduated from Columbian High School in Tiffin and attended Bowling Green State University. He retired in 2007 as Director of National Account Sales for Advanced Drainage Systems (ADS), formerly Hancor, Inc., in Findlay, Ohio, with over 29 years of service.
He was a past member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church, a past Third and Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and Past Grand Knight of JFK Memorial Council #5635 Knights of Columbus in Dunedin, Florida.
There will be a memorial visitation held from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 12 at HARROLD-FLORIANA FUNERAL HOME, 301 W. Tiffin Street, Fostoria.
A Mass of Resurrection will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 13 at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, with The Reverend Todd Dominique presiding. A luncheon will follow in the parish hall.
Memorials are requested to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of the donor’s choice.
