William S. Wagner, 93 of Fostoria, Ohio died Saturday, August 3, 2019 at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Fostoria, Ohio. He was born June 28, 1926 in Tiffin, Ohio to Howard and Catherine (Scott) Wagner. He married Martha C. Buck on August 23, 1953 in Medina, Ohio
Surviving is his wife, Martha Wagner of Fostoria, Children, Thomas (Barbara) Wagner of Fostoria, Jennifer (Mike) Davis of Marion, John (Sue) Wagner of Charlestown, IN
brothers, James Wagner of Tiffin and Dale Wagner of Sycamore, sister, Mildred Hall of PA
6 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Grant Wagner and sister Martha Ann Wagner.
Bill was a 1944 graduate of Melmore High School, received his Bachelors of Science from Heidelberg College in Tiffin and his Master’s degree in Education from Bowling Green State University. He was a WWII Army Veteran service in the Philippine Conquest. He retired with over 25 years of service in 1986 as a Math & Science teacher from Central Jr. High School in Findlay. Bill also taught at Bowling Green, Chagrin Falls & Sharon Center. Bill worked at Union Carbide in Fostoria, RCA in Findlay and was a self-employed farmer. He was a member of the Fostoria Baptist Church in Fostoria where he was a Sunday School Teacher and a Deccan Bill was also a member of the Gideon’s International.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria with the Reverend David Clark officiating. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Knollcrest Cemetery in Arcadia, Ohio where Military Honors will be conducted by the United Veteran of Fostoria.
