George Joseph Stahl, 90 of Fostoria, Ohio, died Monday, February 11, 2019 at Fostoria Promedica Hospital.
He was born January 23, 1929 in Sandusky County, Ohio, to Harry and Bertha (Michaels) Stahl. George married Ethel Sanders October 22, 1950 in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Surviving is his wife, Ethel Stahl of Fostoria; daughter, Shirley Warner of Risingsun; son, Kenneth (Janet) Stahl of Tiffin; brother, Robert Stahl of Green Springs; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents; eight brothers and sisters; and two great grandchildren.
George was a truck driver for several companies and retired in 2009 after 55 years.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran during the Korean War. He competed in the National Truck Roadeo’s in Texas & Kansas, was a member of the Korean Veterans Association, Fostoria American Legion and was part of the Honor Flight to Washington D.C.
Funeral services will be Friday, February 15, 2019 at 1 p.m. at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria, Ohio, with Reverend Donald Goodwin officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 14, 2019 from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will be in Knollcrest Cemetery in Arcadia, Ohio, with Military Honors by the United Veterans of Fostoria.
Memorials can be made to the Flag City Honor Flight.
