Sheryl “Sherrie” Lynn Simonis, 55 of Fostoria, Ohio passed away on Saturday, March 17, 2018
After a courageous battle with cancer, she crossed the finish line when God called her home.
She was born on April 14, 1962 in Bangor, Maine to Ronny & Geraldine (Craley) Driggs.
Sherrie married Dennis McDonald they divorced; she then married Danny Simonis on
May 8, 1998 in Bascom, Ohio and he survives. Also surviving is her mother Geraldine Smith
of Fostoria, mother in-law, Norma Simonis of Fostoria sons Brian (Amanda) McDonald of Trenton,
Jake and Caleb Simonis at home. Daughter Stacy (Philip Morgart) McDonald of Mooreseville, NC,
Step son Brok (Maryah) Darr of Fostoria, sisters Marcia (Geoff Studrawa) Kunkelman & Lisa (Jim) Siebenaller both of Fostoria. Grandchildren- Owyn, Vance, Natalie, Riley, Noah & Caitlin.
She is preceded in death by her father Ronny Driggs and Father in-law Robert Simonis.
Sherrie was a 1980 Graduate of Fostoria High School, In 1984 she received her LPN degree
from the Bowling Green Area School of Practical Nursing. She was an LPN at St. Catherine’s Manor in Fostoria, a member of St. Wendelin Catholic Church & attended St. Patrick Catholic Church in Bascom.
Spending time with family and friends is what Sherrie cherished the most. She enjoyed camping and gardening. Every spring you could count on seeing her working in her flowerbeds, her hands in the dirt with her rain boots “galoshes” on. Sherrie was always able to say something nice about everyone. She was loved by many and will be missed by all.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at All Saints Parish in New Reigel, Ohio with the Reverend Tim Kummerer, officiating. The Rosary will be prayed at the Church at just prior to the Mass. Friends may call on Tuesday, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria, Ohio. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Carey, Ohio
Memorials in Sherrie’s memory are suggested to the Cancer Patient Services of Hancock County or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
