Edward Benson FilliaterJanuary 18, 1955 ~ July 23, 2017 (age 62)
Edward “Easy” Benson Filliater, 62 of Montgomery, Alabama, and formerly of Fostoria, Ohio, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2017 at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery, Alabama.
He was born January 18, 1955 in Fostoria, Ohio, to the late Francis Norbert Filliater and Phyllis Eileen Benson. He first married Cindy Deerwester and they divorced. He then married Lorrel Mullholand on June 16, 1989 in Bradner, Ohio, and she survives in Montgomery, AL.
Also surviving is a son, Brett Filliater of Fostoria; daughters, Katie (John) Smith of Tiffin, Erin Filliater of Findlay and Samantha Filliater of Montgomery, AL; brother, Norb (Sue) Filliater of Fostoria; sister, Linda Schlievert of Findlay; and grandchildren, Austin and Olivia Halsey and Keiligh Smith.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Chuck Filliater; sisters, Fran Wagner and Dawn Decker; and granddaughter, Emma Halsey.
Ed retired from Atlas Crankshaft Co. in Fostoria with more than 35 years of service. He was currently a grounds keeper at the Maxwell Airforce Base Golf Course
A 1973 graduate of St. Wendelin High School, he was a former member of St. Wendelin Parish in Fostoria.
Funeral services will take place on Friday, July 28, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home in Fostoria with Pastor Donald Goodwin officiating.
Visitation will be Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday, from 10-11 a.m., at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
